What this game is about:

In the game "Obscurum - Light beyond the Nightmare's Veil", you accompany the main character through their dreams, which bring up long-forgotten worlds and repressed emotions. Help them to face the dark past and find a way to process it. Many challenging obstacles on your journey can be overcome through skillful navigation. Look out for precious memories that unlock new abilities. Fight against pent-up emotions that have taken up residence like a parasite and face the final boss, against whom most people are powerless. In the end, you may be able to help them take the first step in the right direction. This is usually the most difficult - so be prepared for a challenging adventure with emotional highs and lows. 

Obscurum is a 2 1/2D platformer that deals with themes such as repression and mourning abstractly. The game combines exciting platformer elements with touching story segments. The result is an experience that rewards the skillful use of abilities and leaves plenty of room for interpretation in the presentation of the story. 

We hope that you´ll enjoy our lovingly designed game. Replay value is also guaranteed, as our intermediate levels are procedurally generated and therefore always provide a new gaming experience. "Obscurum" was developed as part of a student project and a total of about 3500 hours of work were invested in this project.
